"We were experiencing high levels of iron and sulphur in our water here in Norfolk County. We couldn't wash white clothes as they would go yellow and visitors refused to shower or drink our water due to the terrible smell. "My husband and I reside in Tay Township and are serviced by municipal water since approximately 2002.
My husband suffers from bacterial infections. Repeatedly we had been advised by his doctors that the infections were water-borne. Bacterial analysis were conducted by medical professionals and analyzed by professional medical laboratories. Tay Township was notified and attended to sample our water supply. Although the results were negative, we had no control over the protocol. Subsequently in the early autumn of 2012 there were water advisories posted for Victoria Harbour. Considering that the municipal system is an integrated distribution system and taking further into consideration that there was an unusual connection process in our neighbourhood (lacking visible permit(s), municipally installed connection from the curb stop to the residential premises and inadequate trench depth for permanent occupancy) and the on-going health issues of bacterial skin infections, it was determined that we would take the unusual measure of installing an ultra violet system as the municipal water enters our home. We contacted several local water treatment companies and Mr. Beutler was quick to both respond to our telephone call and make a home visit to conduct some initial tests. His price seemed reasonable (turns out it was very reasonable) and he was able to provide service almost immediately (another concern resulting from the boil water advisory issued in Tay at the time). The equipment was installed by a professional plumber who was prompt, efficient and the workmanship outstanding (and in a finished crawlspace). His female apprentice was exceptional. They were courteous. I am pleased to report that within a week there were visible improvements and the bacterial skin infections that had plagued my husband for almost two years healed and there has been no significance reoccurrence of the infections. Doctor appointments have been dramatically reduced and are now of a normal pattern of follow-up for an elderly person. The follow-up service by The Water Store and specifically Gary Beutler has been beyond expectations and is exemplary. We never hesitate to recommend his establishment to others. The cleanliness of his store also portrays his dedication to the products he sells and the service he provides.

Chris and his wife Joanne were concerned about the water their family was drinking as well as the hard water stains in their sinks and buildup of calcium in their plumbing fixtures. They couldn't even get proper ice cubes from their refrigerator ice maker. As Chris says "We used to buy 4-5 cases of bottled water a week. Years ago we purchased an iron filter system from Gary (from The Water Store in Midland) and because of the excellent service we received from him, we recommended him to our friends.
When our old water softener gave out, we found Gary had comparable prices so we purchased our new softener from him because we knew he was reliable when it came to servicing the equipment.
Years later, we developed a tannin problem (microscopic plant material) which can cause water discolouration. We made one phone call-The Water Store and asked for Gary. Within a few days, he came out, tested the water, found our problem and recommended a tannin remover system. Again, we purchased the required system from Gary. If a customer returns to the same store three times for different equipment, you know they must be satisfied with the service.

Therefore, our water was a serious hazard to my health. We used bottled water for all but washing dishes, laundry and personal hygiene. This was very expensive. After meeting and talking to Gary Beutler from The Water Store, at the Barrie Home Show we soon had a new and efficient water softener and reverse osmosis system installed. "When I first heard Gary's tag line "BUY A FILTER OR BE A FILTER THE CHOICE IS YOURS" it really made me think about what I was drinking, allowing my family to drink and its resulting effect on our health.
Our water at home did not have any issues with the exception of the hard water residue (Midland Town water) and we had an existing water softener in place. However when my son chose water quality as his Science Fair project, he tested all types of water sources from bottled water to tap water and we saw for ourselves the total suspended solids that were in the water that we were drinking/filtering.

"I own a three season property at Balm Beach that is supplied by a well on the property. We were having issues with the color and odor of our water, so we called The Water Store and Gary came straight over to run some tests. I am writing this letter to you in appreciation, for the wonderful service you gave to me. It is very hard these days to put your trust into just anybody, even if they come highly recommended! I want to share with you, and hopefully with your potential customers that find their way into your store. Here is my Story:
A year ago I was referred to a company in Toronto that installs reverse osmosis systems. I was told they were the best. I spoke with the owner, I told him I was opening up a business and explained what the business is about and how much water I would need. The owner of the company assessed the system that he felt was needed. Since he was the specialist, I agreed. Arrangements were made for them to come and install it one month later. After the install I tried it out, but all I got was 1 five-gallon jug (all day). This certainly would not do, for the type of business I was in, so I called the company back and spoke with the owner. He advised me that I needed to purchase another system, which would cost me twice the price. Since I was due to open the business in a week I purchased the second system. I was told this would solve my problem. After installed I tried out the 2nd system, it to failed to do the job. This was becoming a nightmare for me, as the business was now open. I called the owner again he told me I now need to purchase another system, this time the cost would be 3 times the amount of money. I decided to seek another company's advice, on how to solve the problem. So I called The Water Store and spoke to Steve. I told him the situation, and we set a date for him to come and look at the system installed. Steve came to the clinic spent several hours going over everything. He recognized the problem and advised me on what was needed to be done. Steve thought the system I had was more then adequate, so I didn't have to change the system. He felt all that was needed was a large holding tank, and a pump. This idea made much more sense to me, not only was it going to save me a lot of money, but he was here locally should it need service. The equipment and tank was installed in one day, with no hitches. I can't tell you what a relief it was for me. I would also like to say since they came and worked at my clinic, this system has never worked better it has given me all the supply of water I needed. I would like to say to Steve & Harold (the installer) and to all those potential customers that maybe considering their services, you will only find honesty, pride and a great job, should you need to make up your mind, and as far as price goes, it was worth every cent. My only regret, was not calling The Water Store - Collingwood first!!

It is with great thanks and gratitude that I extend this note of appreciation for your "after hours" service. Your willingness to exceed my expectations of service has prompted me to write to let others know of your attention to your clients in what seemed like a hopeless situation. While attempting to replace my ultra violet light late in the evening, I experienced the misfortune of breaking my protective glass shield for the bulb. This rendered my filtration system useless and inoperative until the glass shield could be replaced. This meant going without water for at least 18 hours. For my wife and I this was not an option. Contacting you after 7:30 in the evening was not what I wanted to do but had little choice. You took my call, provided a solution and I met you at your store in 30 minutes time to allow me to purchase a glass shield. This outstanding level of service to a "stranded" client enabled us to resume our normal home activities without disruption. Our original replacement water pump was unfortunately not a success and overheated and seized up, therefore to have your technician come out on Christmas Eve to exchange the pumps for a new one was very much appreciated.
